Medlene® Anderson-Adson Self Retaining Retractor is a specialized instrument commonly used to pry open medium sized incisions. It is frequently used during general surgery as well as neuro and spinal surgeries to access deeper structures.

Our Anderson-Adson Self Retaining Retractor are ideal for opening wound edges during dissection.
Secures wound edges and incision planes and gently pulls them apart to provide access to deeper tissues.
Especially includes 4 by 4 prongs which give the instrument better grip on the tissue. Moreover, the prongs have outwards hooks which allow secure grip onto the dissected tissue. The instrument is available with sharp and blunt prongs to suit different dissection needs.
Also includes angled jaws which contour to the curves of the dissection plane for better access to the tissues underneath. The long jaws help to clear the surgical field and manage deeper incisions.
In addition, the retracting forceps includes ergonomic finger ring handles for superior control.
The instrument has a smooth design and light weight to ensure comfortable handling. Moreover, the ratchet lock gives it its self retaining property which helps to decrease user fatigue during procedures.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
MEDLENE Medical instruments must be cleaned, disinfected,
and sterilized before first use. Protective caps and transport packaging must be
removed beforehand.
A complete functional check must be carried out before each use. Improper use and overstraining due to twisting / levering can lead to breaks and permanent deformation.
Do not use metal brushes or abrasives, as there is a risk of corrosion due to surface damage. The safe
combination of instruments with each other or of instruments with implants must be checked by the user before clinical use.
Be careful when handling sharp tips and cutting edges - risk of injury.
In case of patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJK), suspected CJK or possible variants of this disease, the applicable national regulations regarding the preparation of instruments must be applied. Never leave instruments in disinfectant solution for too long. Follow the instructions of the respective manufacturer.
